Hey good lookin, whatcha got cookin

May 16, 2010

This was another one of Little Honey’s birthday presents.  I was pretty impressed that a number of her gifts were hand made!  This was actually made by my dad… about 25 + years ago.  It was made for my siblings and I when we were kids.  This year, it got a much needed coat of paint to freshen it up, and was stocked with a pantry full of pots and pans and yummy foods.  The chef even has her own apron to wear.

It has original faucets from my parents’ old house (they saved them when they changed them out before building this kitchen forever ago) and a small metal bowl for the sink.  The stove top is vintage fisher price.  I thought about painting a burned and adding knobs, but this one is more interactive for LH.  My dad added the spice rack to the top so she can season her food, and the peg hooks on the side for her to hang her apron.

I made the apron out of scraps from this top!

Are you hungry?  We make a lot of playdough food.  Pancakes and hot dogs are our specialty, although yesterday we even made a hot dog tree.

How about some sugar cookies with sprinkles?  but if you want something a little… healthier, try the sandwich.

Hearty wheat bread, beefsteak tomato, fresh green leaf lettuce and swiss cheese.

This was my first foray into felt food.  Fun and pretty easy too!  It was a great project to work on by the pool while we were on vacation.  :)

How about a glass of water?  All that cooking makes me thirsty!

Why thanks!
